In 1885 noted architect Nicholas Clayton designed this three bay, double gallery side hall home for prominent midwife Barbara Jacobs and her family. Three- generations of the family occupied this home for the next 84 years. The oversized lot the home sits on also boasts a 2 car garage with a leased apartment above (available to view on second showings). The current kitchen is an an addition that was added later in the 20th centrury allowing for a large breakfast rom complete with a seond sink. All bedrooms are upstairs and like the first floor have high ceilings, floor through windows that allow for unlit rooms. The fourth bedroom may have been a trunk room and would be a great den, office or home gym. The Jacob home is a recorded Texas Historic Landmark as well as included on the National Register of Historic Homes . Much of the home has original architectiural detail that include wood floors & pocket door that remind us of it’s illustrious history.
